Welcome to the home pages of the Kersley Family

I was born in Sheffield at the beginning of the Second World War and spent my formative years at school there, when I was seventeen my parents moved to Easingwold to take over the running of the Angel Inn, situated in the Market Place, Easingwold.

At the age of eighteen I went into the Army and after serving in many different Countries around the World for twenty three years, I was discharged, I then enlisted in The Sultan of Oman's Army, where I served for three years. I also served with the Multi - National Peace Keeping Force (UN) in Sinai, finally retiring in 1987. I now live back in Easingwold in rural North Yorkshire.

It was during my time in the Army that I became interested in Family History, because I had been told that my Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather had all served in the Army, so that is how all this began.
