Ronald George Kersley 1916 - 1983 Ronald George Kersley, enlisted into the Regular Army in 1933, joining the Royal Army Service Corps. After his initial training at Aldershot, he was posted to Egypt and Palestine, where he served until 1938, he returned to England to serve at Cavalry Barracks, Fulford,York, where he remained until October 1939, when he was posted to serve in France with the B.E.F.. After being seriously wounded early in 1940 and being in the Military Hospital at La Baul, he was evacuated to England during the Dunkirk evacuations. He was awarded the following medals:- 1939 - 45 Star. 1939 - 45 War Medal. 1939 - 45 Defence Medal.
